Upright racemes of fragrant, 2-lipped flowers, 3-4.5cm across, with spreading, rounded, upper and lower lobes, vary in colour in cultivated selections from white, yellow, and bronze, to purple, pink, and red, often including bicolours; they are borne all summer and into autumn.
